Nicki Minaj - Pink Friday (Review)

The new queen of hip-hop Nicki Minaj finally released her long-awaited debut album "Pink Friday" this past week and looks like it will debut at the number 2 spot on the Billboard 200 chart next week with amazing sales of 375-400k! For those who have followed Minaj from her mixtapes days will be mostly surprised that this is a pop/hip-hip/rap album, a softer side to the barbie who killed greats such as Kanye and Jay-Z in "Monster." Theres also a lot more singing in the album as well, and although she may not have a "Whitney" voice she still holds her own, such as in the beautiful melodic balled "Save Me", which Minaj says is her most personal and vulnerable. During the past year I have become a really big fan of Nicki Minaj, I found myself repeating over and over again her brilliant versus in the numerous hits she was featured on. The album from start to end is great, its a mix of great lyrical Pop/R&B/Hip-Hip/Rap tracks! There has not been a woman rapper in a while that has been as exciting, entertaining and fresh as Nicki Minaj....I even purchased my first ever rap album ever! If there's anything this album proves is that Nicki Minaj has a very bright future ahead of her and we will gladly accept her. (4 out of 5 stars)

Favorite tracks:
I'm The Best, Fly (feat. Rihanna), Save Me, Moment 4 Life (feat. Drake), Blazin (feat. Kanye West), Last Chance, Super Bass.
